Sketches@Sakai Hoitsu Exhibition, Japan Society

I went to "Silver Wind : The Arts of Sakai Hoitsu" exhibition at Japan Society. Hoitsu is one of the most important artists of the Rimpa school in  the Edo Period. I've always associated Rimpa with conservatives because of those luxurious golden screens. But I was wrong. It was an eye opener: I found that Rimpa is so deep and fun. That made me draw these sketches.
